This game has been lovingly crafted over many years to ensure that fans can truly touch the world of ONE PIECE… and now, ONE PIECE ODYSSEY is ready to set sail! The sad thing is, digital sales are as high as they are but that's because collectors are buying the physical copy and leaving it alone, a sealed copy is far more valuable than an opened one, and then buying the digital game (that's 2 for the price of 2), yup.ONE PIECE ODYSSEY is an RPG project to commemorate ONE PIECE brand’s 25th Anniversary, which combines classic staples of the JRPG genre with the unique elements of ONE PIECE. Sorry folks, it went ok much longer than we all figured it would, we expected physical media would die out during the end of the PS3 era and were surprised but, the time has finally come. Just a digital voucher for the game and then a bunch of digital DLC. Sorry, back to my point.īut, take a good look at the Spider-man 2 Collectors Edition, THERES NO STEEL BOOK. Even Xbox did this with the Starfield Collectors Editions once fans flipped out they wanted a physical copy, CE don't come with a disc because it alienates Xbox Series S consumers just like PS5 and PS5 Digital consoles, so Xbox will do the same, standard edition will be offered with a disc, how they're gonna fit a 120GB game on a single Bluray, I don't know. I mean really, what're you gonna do with an empty case? Why have it? So you can put it on your shelf with the rest of your games hiding the artwork and display the spine with no reason to pull it out and look at it because there's no disc to grab, you're better off getting a art cell instead. And selling a disc drive on its own? I don't know, doesn't make sense.Īdditionally, Collectors Editions (God of War Ragnarok and Horizon Forbidden West), in order to cater to both camps, have had digital vouchers to redeem for the game because discless PS5s and PS4s can download a game, but common sense and logic say a discless console can't play a disc, but both Collectors Editions came with a Collectors Steel book, which is pointless in my opinion. The article I read stated it was just the disc-based version they were selling at a discounted rate. I'm getting the feeling PlayStation is getting ready to drop physical media, period.
